Examination & Promotion
Examination Rules
- No pupil may be absent from an examination or test except in cases of severe and unavoidable illness. In such cases, an application must be submitted to the Principal on or before the exam date, along with a medical certificate.
- Absence from an examination without grave reasons or prior written permission will be considered as failure, and the student will not be allowed to retake the exam.
- Unexplained absence from one or more subjects of an exam results in a loss of marks and exclusion from ranking and merit-based prizes.
- The use of unfair means during or after an examination may lead to strict punishment at the Principal’s discretion. Repeated offenses may result in expulsion or repetition of the class.
- A pupil may be barred from an examination due to unsatisfactory academic progress, insufficient attendance, or serious misconduct.
Promotion Criteria
- Promotion to the next class is based on the entire year's academic record along with examination marks. Regular attendance and consistent effort are required for promotion.
- The year’s record includes:
- Daily written work, assignments, homework, and periodic assessments.
- Character traits such as good conduct, obedience, responsibility, cooperation, and sociability.
- Class participation, ability to answer independently, fluency in English, discipline, and punctuality.
- Parents must sign the progress reports to acknowledge their child's performance.
- Promotion decisions are entirely at the discretion of the Principal, and her decision is final.
- Promotion once denied will not be reconsidered.
- A student failing to be promoted may lose fee concessions for the following year and may be advised to leave the school if their conduct is unsatisfactory.
- The answer sheets of the final examination will not be shown to anyone.
